JEDDAH: Casadores claimed Team of the Week award for the second time and the lead to boot during the 7th session in the Thursday League 16th Season for Sarawat Superstores Cup at the Bowling City here.
Casadores overcame a slow start to post the top tally of 30 points that was enough for them to overtake D’ Barkads at the top of the team standings in this Thursday night five-man team league event.
The previous week honoree, Habagat, settled for second-best this time on 27.5 with D’ Barkads on 24, Sarawat Superstores 22.5 and Al Murjana 19 points.
Salam Rice pooled 18.5 points at sixth position on the night, while Jem Striker, Al Kabeer Frozen Foods and AL Striker filled the last three places on 16.5, 15 and 7 points in that order.
Wilson Triguero of Habagat shot the high series of 683 to become the Bowler of the Week on a night where a 600 series was easy picking for many bowlers.
Nezar Al Hamwe had the second-best score of 662 while leading the Casadores who won the second game and overall output. The next three scorers to Al Hamwe all crossed 600 with Nawaf del Monte on 656, Obie Ycasas on 622 and Tope Sayson on 605. Ding dela Rosa added 179-239 and Fadi Al Hadad 204.
Backing up Triguero at Habagat were Jimmy Aragones 645 and Geo Mangaliman 556 while carding two games each were Rommel Cagampang 195-207, Edu Toledo 210-224 and Rene Punzalan 165-181.
Deposed No. 1, at least for the week, D’ Barkads drew 600s from four players in Leo Edejer 652, Ed Sardiña 626, James Galvan 604 and Joel Nidoy 602. The fifth man in the rotation Romy Bunagan contributed 572.
Sponsor team Sarawat just missed having all five players hitting in the region of 600 as Mohd. Al Amri tallied 646 to go with the 621 by team captain Igna Salgado, 612 by Dylan Ilagan, 602 by Jay-R de Dios and 596 by Gerry Mandanas.
At Murjana the leading scorers were Jay Bengco 643, Mhon Laxamana 616 and Nap Patayan 577.
