BOSTON: Rookie Marcus Smart scored 16 points and Jared Sullinger had 15 with 17 rebounds to lead the Boston Celtics to a 100-86 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night in the final preseason game for both teams.

Gerald Wallace had 12 points for Boston, which finished the preseason 5-3 with its second straight win over Brooklyn.

Mason Plumlee led the Nets with 15 points and 11 boards. Mirza Teletovic also scored 15 points.

Brooklyn, which didn't play any of its expected regulars, went 4-2 in the preseason.

The Celtics led 58-44 at halftime.

Boston trailed by five early in the second quarter before going on a 26-4 run over a 6 1/2 minute stretch to grab a 55-38 lead on James Young's floating jumper. Wallace had eight points in the spree and Smart seven.

In Orlando, Fla., Jeff Adrien hit a free throw with 35 seconds to play as Houston rallied to beat Orlando 90-89 on Wednesday night.

Troy Daniels and Isaiah Canaan led the Rockets with 14 points each.

Houston (5-2) trailed by 13 entering the fourth quarter and didn't get its first lead of the second half until just over two minutes left in the game.

The Magic (3-3) tied it at 89 with less than a minute to play, but Adrien made a free throw to put Houston up by a point. and Willie Green's jumper bounced off the rim at the buzzer.

Tarik Black added 10 points, and James Harden finished with nine points in 18 minutes of preseason action.

Nik Vucevic led the Magic with 12 points and six rebounds.

In New York, Carmelo Anthony scored 30 points, including a tiebreaking three-point play with 13.9 seconds left, and the New York Knicks overcame a 10-point deficit late in the third quarter to beat the Washington Wizards 103-100 on Wednesday night.

John Wall scored 29 points, hitting 10 of his 16 shots from the field, and Otto Porter Jr. added 22 points in the loss for the Wizards, who wrapped up their preseason schedule.

With the Knicks leading 100-97 with 1:22 left on the clock after a 3-point shot by Pablo Prigioni, who scored 12 points, Washington's Damion James evened it 100-all on a 3-pointer with 33.2 seconds left.

On the ensuing play, Anthony hit a jumper and was fouled. He made the free throw to give New York a three-point lead.

Porter Jr. had a chance to tie the game but misfired on a 3-pointer.

In San Antonio, Jeff Teague scored 21 points and the Atlanta Hawks closed their preseason schedule with a resounding 117-107 victory over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.

Mike Scott added 19 points while Kyle Korver had 18 for Atlanta (4-3), which shot 52 percent from the field.

Tony Parker had 17 points and seven assists, Cory Josepha added 14 points and Boris Diaw had 12 points for San Antonio (2-4). Tim Duncan played just 13 minutes and the Spurs were missing Kawhi Leonard (eye infection) and Tiago Splitter (calf).

There were a combined 50 fouls and 33 turnovers in a sloppy game.

In Ontario, Calif., rookie Julius Randle scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter, and Jeremy Lin added 13 points in the Los Angeles Lakers' 94-86 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers in a preseason game Wednesday night.

Wayne Ellington and Wesley Johnson scored 11 points apiece for the Lakers (3-4), who played a solid defensive game and surged in the fourth quarter despite 18 turnovers. Los Angeles won without Kobe Bryant, who sat out to rest.

C.J. McCollum scored 17 points and Meyers Leonard added 13 for the Trail Blazers (3-3), who rested four starters as their three-game winning streak ended.

Portland center Chris Kaman scored 10 of his 12 points in the first half against his former Lakers teammates.
