JEDDAH: Defending champion Cyclone reminded everyone it was still very much around with a performance worthy of Team of the Week award during the 7th session in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 5 bowling tournament at the Iceland Bowling Center.

Save for a dip in form in the second game Cyclone looked pretty solid in putting away the top tally of 56 points.

League leader Rotto Taurus 1 continued its consistent display to pour the second-best output of 52 points with comebacking RTJ Transient House in third place on the day with 47.5 points.

Two points back in fourth position was previous week honoree Casadores-GBI TBBGI 45.5 followed by Zikato Strikers 45, Taurus Reinforced 40, D’ Splitters 33 and Rock & Roll 31.5.

Terri-Bowls just missed the 30-point mark on 29 while Baghaffar Medical Supplies, D’ Luf’s Strikers and Bangon Pilipinas filled the last three spots on 27, 26 and 18.

The day’s honors had been shared out with RTJ assistant team captain Joel Nidoy taking the men’s Bowler of the Week award and Casadores’ Vivian Sacamed emerging as ladies Bowler of the Week on respective series of 605 and 597.

Bash Langa and Richard Junio presided the Cyclone charge with rounds of 582 and 577. Contributing two games each for Cyclone, which missed just the second game won by Rotto, were Salic Mudag 164-145, Jack Jarin 221-152 and Jeff Magallanes 138-165.

Over at Rotto it was the trio of Olie Jacinto, Raul delos Eyes and Ramon Fabro that carried the load on 572, 570 and 561 in that order. Epoy Santos tossed in 185-126 while Lito Zamudio added 189.

Joel shot scratch games of 190, 224 and 173 on the way to the day’s high series as he teamed with wife Malou 514 at the helm of Rudy Jamon’s RTJ Transient House. Ed Cordova compiled 489 while Jamon, finally back in the lanes after being out of action for medical reason, mustered 477 to go with the 155-141 by Conrad Baltazar and 154 by Ana de Guzman.

In addition to Vivian the other scorers at Casadores were Cesar Sacramed 540, Christopher Sayson 512, Rudy Catampatan 135-159, Ryan Latigo 133-122 and Mikee Protacio 155-130.

Sponsor team Zikato Strikers had the duo of Arman Gamboa and Toto Lim showing the way on 583 and 536 with Vic Gonzales the other player to go the distance on 482. With two games each were Rudy Valenzuela 146-122, Gemma Zuniga 119-131 and VangieLim 156-127.
