Cyclone Star and D’ RJ’s Cardinals qualified from the shootout round, setting the stage for the stepladder finals in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

During the shootout Cyclone Star and Cardinals returned the two highest score for three games with handicap series on 2,745 and 2,602 pinfalls.

American Garden (2,588) and The Pinbusters (2,476) failed to make it past the elimination round.

Cyclone Star and Rudy Jamon’s Cardinals join waiting finalists Taurus, Velocity and D’ Luf’s Strikers in the stepladder stage and championship match of the tournament organized by Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club. They reached the next round as the No. 4 and No. 5 finalists.

Fatima Jintarat, Arman Gamboa and Jack Jarin shot full games of 547, 539 and 536 at the helm of a Cyclone charge that also contained 162-154 from Robert de Guzman, 167-201 from Thong Langa and 169-158 from team captain Bash Langa.

The Cardinals had the pair of Kristhea Mae Busico and Ed Cordova taking charge on 549 and 538, with skipper Jamon gamely backing them up on 514. Richard Junio, Conrad Baltazar and Ric Tibayan each tossed in two games of 167-147, 165-160 and 125-157.

Lexter Atienza’s 589 and a pair of 493s from Bob Stone and Christine Stone laid the foundation of American Garden’s losing effort. Shirley Sagmit had 486 while Benjie Espinosa tallied 143-162 and Tom Langa 168.

For Pinbussters the scorers were Jhun Ejanda 553, Rico Parcon 533, Rudy Ramos 528, Mildred Florentino 440 and Jayme Lugue 422.
