D’ Barkads needed a big game in the positioning round and did just that, clinching a Team of the Week award and an outright spot into the finals in the Thursday League 11th Season for Sarawat Superstores Cup at the Bowling City in Sultana Center.

With the No. 1 and No. 2 all but secured by Sarawat Superstores and Bowling City, only the last of the three finalists was to be determined between Orient Watch and D’ Barkads in this round, the 19th week of the tournament.

A mere 4.5 points separated Orient Watch and D’ Barkads. And when the smoke of battle cleared it was D’ Barkads that made it as Orient Watch faded and finished 6 points behind the eventual No. 3 qualifier.

D’ Barkads had the top tally of 29 points with Sarawat, consistent as ever, on 28, followed by D’ Engineers 24, Orient Watch 23 and Pindot 22.5.

Bowling City pooled 19.5 points, Habagat carded 17 while Bulacan Knight and Fineboyz Rhinos posted 12 and 5 points.

Joel Nidoy of D’ Engineers was the top individual performer on the night and deservedly won the Bowler of the Week accolade on 668 on lines of 205, 203 and 257.

The remaining teams in the fold that failed to advance outright play three games with handicap with the highest three scorers joining Sarawat, Bowling City and D’ Barkads in the six-team stepladder finals.

Rey Beltran and Rudy Valenzuela presided the D’ Barkads rounds with 649 and 617 with Bing Amolo and Leo Edejer just missing 600 on 593 and 592 respectively. Dan Ednave added 237-156 and Romy Bunagan 174.

Sarawat, with a twice-to-beat privilege as the No. 1, enjoyed corpuscled performances from the trio of Paolo Allego 636, Igna Salgado 607and Gerry Mandanas 600. Bandar Al Dosari added 589 while Mohd. Amri contributed 202-234 and Alex Flora 234.

Jun Estefano and Tom Langa supported Nidoy at D’ Engineers with contributions of 608 and 597 to go with the 579 by Richard Junio, 139-159 by Bash Langa and 184 by Ed Cordova.
