D’ Barkads followed Sky Freight-OSN to the Team of the Week honor roll during the second session in the OSN-FTBJ 50th Open Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City here.

While both teams showed their credentials early in the golden conference of the longest running event of the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah D’ Barkads just did it a little better courtesy of Leo Edejer who completed a D’ Barkads double by winning the Bowler of the Week award.

Habagat was the second-best points getter on 39 points followed by Sky Freight-OSN 33, Al Murjana 30.5 and MC Hammer 29.5.

In 6th place with 27 points was Alfa-Moe-Yasser followed by Hal Falcon 24, Red Dragons 22 and Bowling City 20.

The last three to check in out of the 12 teams were Bank AlJazira Fawri 19, Xtreme-Taurus 16 and GBI-TBBGI 11.

Though Hal Falcon and Sky Freight won the first two games Habagat and D’ Barkads were more consistent to become the first two teams with D’ Barkads wining it all by coming up with the top overall output for their only first-place points of 12.

Edejer shot the high series of 707 on lines of 193, 244 and 228 to pace teammates Daryl Loquias 594, Ladio Gonzales 546 and Rudy Valenzuela 540. Dan Ednave added 188-168 and Amro Al Amri had 221 to round out the D’ Barkads scoring.

Habagat used six players to build its total, led by the duo of Richard Antonio and George Mangaliman who fired 653 and 626. Edu Toledo contributed 593, Jimmy Aragones came through with 549 while Ver Jasa and Rommel Cagampang made 169-191 and 183 respectively.

Emy de Guzman’s Sky Freight squad had a rousing start to lead everyone else with 43 points but then could not prevent a D’ Barkads takeover at first place.

Leading the second week display for Sky Freight were the trio of Nanding Siasoco 610, Bonnie Garcia 607 and Goying Salazar 605. Oca Bernabe and James Galvan tossed in 578 and 541 in the five-man rotation.

Defending champion Murjana got a lift from the threesome of Rey Beltran 631, Nap Patayan 611 and Archie Santos 605. The others who contributed to the Murjana cause were Roger Daquiaog 518, Rolly Vistal 171-170 and Elo Manalo 180.

MC Hammer, the top-seeded team which lost the championship match to Kabalen-Murjana in the last conference, had Zaldy Bacero, Ruben Grino and Rene Punzalan as its leading scorers on 641, 608 and 568.
