D’ Luf’s Strikers pulled off a shock upset victory over fancied American Garden in an eventful third week that saw a change in the leadership for the third time in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

Luf’s ended the session with the third perfect score of 28 points in as many weeks to claim Team of the Week honors following its 20-0 shutout of erstwhile league leader and previous week honoree American Garden on total pinfalls of

2,661-2,409.

Cesar Pagtalunan and Farida de Guzman made it a rare Luf’s perfect grand slam when they clinched the men’s and ladies Bowler of the Week awards on 570 and 560 respectively.

With a mere 3 points to show for the session American Garden went from No. 1 to fifth spot in the team standings, overtaken by four teams.

D’ RJ’s Cardinals surged to a tie for first place on 15 points after a 10-10 draw with The Pinbusters on total pinfalls of 2,473-2,490.

Cyclone Star fell short given Luf’s dazzling display in a bid to win honors despite drawing the bye team and settled for second best on 27 including rank points of 7 on total pinfalls of 2,504 mainly behind the duo of Ariel Urquia 533 and Arman Gamboa 510. Team captain Fatima Jintarat added 463, while Robert de Guzman had 132-139, Mike Tambasen 150-169 and Jack Jarin 150-174.

Taurus was another team to blank an opponent in first Team of the Week winner Velocity Strikers.

Along with its rank points of 4 Taurus totaled 24 on the day to forge a tie for first with Cardinals on identical running total of 55 points in this league event sponsored by Star Markets.

Rommel Marasigan was the other player to complete three-game series at Luf’s on 497, while team captain Danny Atubang tallied 133-148, Danny Francisco had 172-156 and Randa de Guzman made 117-126.

Taurus’s total was built around the five-man team of Edwin Ronquillo 513, Fedelyn Bustinera 505, Hadi Pacheco 493, Ric Nangel 488 and Gil Catral 454.

New league leaders Cardinals likewise got the goods from their quintet of Conrad Baltazar 525, Kristhea Mae Busico 501, skipper Richard Junio 499, Ed Cordova 482 and Yeth Sichan Achai 466.

Leading the way at Pinbusters were Mildred Florentino 516 and Jhun Ejanda 510.
