D’ RJ’s Cardinals became the second team after D’ Luf’s Strikers to achieve a rare perfect grand slam feat on the way to their first Team of the Week award during the seventh session in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

RJ’S hit the maximum total points of 28 while Conrad Baltazar and Kristhea Busico completed the slam when they won the men’s and ladies Bowler of the Week accolades.

Making the achievement all the more memorable was the fact that Cardinals did it against the team that denied them a sweep of the morning and afternoon leagues in the last conference.

This time there was no denying Cardinals as they shut out American Garden 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,795 and 2,612 and rank points of 8-6.

D’ Luf’s battled Cardinals for the week’s honors but had to settle for second best on 27 points following its shutout of The Pinbusters 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,677-2,419 and rank points of 7-4.

In the other match, Velocity Strikers brought down Cyclone Star 16-4 (2,408-2,255 3-2), while league leader Taurus returned 20 match points, total pinfalls of 2,542 and rank points of 5 against the bye team.

Baltazar shot the high series of 594 and Busico had 560 as they led a huge display by the Cardinals who got 585 from Richard Junio and 516 from Rey Serrano as well as 190-158 from Ed Cordova and 170 from Ric Tibayan.

The trio of Danny Atubang, Randa de Guzman and Rommel Marasigan presided D’ Luf’s charge with rounds of 541, 517 and 515. Contributing two games each were Tirso Bambalan 166-159, Cesar Pagtalunan 188-169 and Sol Cuenca 146-170.

For previous week honoree Velocity Strikers it was the duo of Carms Lim and Jojo Esperanzate that bowled big with rounds of 541 and 506 to go with the 480 by Della Javing, 455 by Toto Lim and 134-138 by Jery Carredo.

The scorers at Taurus were Fedelyn Bustinera 516, Edwin Ronquillo 501, Minda Guevarra 487, Jun Caisip 429, Ric Nangel 150-172 and Regino Mendoza 151.
