DETROIT: Pavel Datsyuk scored twice to surpass 900 NHL points, and Henrik Zetterberg and Darren Helm also had two goals apiece to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a wild 6-5 victory over the Boston Bruins on Sunday.

Both teams blew two-goal leads before Danny DeKeyser’s shot from the point deflected past goalie Jonas Gustavsson with 12:23 remaining in the game. Zetterberg was credited with the goal, and the Red Wings held on to their 6-5 lead until the end.

Boston’s Brad Marchand set a franchise record for fastest goal by scoring 8 seconds into the game, and Zach Trotman, Loui Eriksson, Dennis Seidenberg and Joonas Kemppainen also scored for the Bruins.

Boston’s Tuukka Rask was pulled after allowing five goals on 24 shots. It was the second time in three games he allowed five goals.

Marchand opened the scoring with a wrist shot after the Bruins won a faceoff in the Detroit zone. It was the fastest in the NHL since Alexandre Burrows scored 6 seconds in for Vancouver on March 16, 2013, against Detroit, according to STATS.

Zetterberg tied the game less than three minutes later, and the Bruins needed only 14 seconds to take the lead again when Trotman’s shot from the blue line beat Petr Mrazek.

Eriksson scored to make it 3-1, but Datsyuk reached the 900-point milestone when he scored during a scramble in front with 5:15 left in the period.

Helm tied it early in the second, and Datsyuk scored again with the man advantage. Helm’s second goal made it 5-3 with 8:59 left in the second.

Seidenberg made it 5-4 with a long shot just 22 seconds after Helm had put the Red Wings ahead by two. Then Kemppainen scored a short-handed goal 38 seconds into the third, beating Mrazek from the left circle.

In New York, Derek Stepan scored twice in the third period to lead the New York Rangers to a 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Derick Brassard scored early and Henrik Lundqvist stopped 21 shots as it won its fifth game in six.

Brayden Schenn spoiled Lundqvist’s shutout with 9.7 seconds left in the third period with his 16th goal of the season.

Robby Fabbri and Patrik Berglund scored on breakaways and Brian Elliott stopped 37 shots as the St. Louis Blues held on for a 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Elliott was superb until Nikita Kucherov scored in the final minute for Tampa Bay, which lost for the third time in four games and had a nine-game home winning streak stopped.

Keith Kinkaid made 25 saves to record his first NHL shutout in leading the New Jersey Devils to a 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

David Schlemko scored the game’s lone goal in the first period as the Devils leapfrogged the idle New York Islanders for third place in the Metropolitan Division.

Sam Reinhart had a goal and an assist as part of a three-goal first period, leading the Buffalo Sabres to a 4-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Buffalo also got goals from Jack Eichel, Evander Kane and Marcus Foligno.
