RIYADH: In a clash between two top teams, Dirab scored a thrilling four-wicket over Al-Kharj in a third round match of the Champions League cricket tournament organized by the Riyadh Cricket Association along with the Cricket Saudi International.

In the other matches, Diriyah League went down to Huraymala League by six wickets and Al-Majma’ah eased past Hayer League by 74 runs.

In a closely fought encounter, Al Kharj won the toss and elected to bat first. The in form Bilal Wani continued to display his dominance of bat over ball as he smashed a well-made 86 runs. However, the rest of his colleagues looked out of touch. Afzal was the only batsman who put up a fight and contributed 23 runs as his team folded up for 178 runs, which came off 19.4 overs.

Raja Gulraiz was the pick of the bowlers and took 3 for 41 runs. Yassir, Iftikhar, Adnan, Irshad and Saqib took a wicket each.

Dirab chased well and achieved their target after 18.3 overs for the loss of six wickets. Adnan and Imran scored 32 runs each. Saqib came up with a match winning 41 runs, which steered Dirab to victory. Nadeem Babar picked 2 wickets. Imtiaz, Fahad, Muzaffar and Ayaz shared four wickets.

Waheed (42), Ibrar (37), Hamza (30), Farooq (34), Yassir (37) and Qadir (34) contributed to the total. Babar took 2 wickets while Zainullah, Ishaq and Abdulaziz got a wicket each. Hayer were all out for 155. Ishaq faced the furious Al Majma’ah bowling attack with courageous knock 65. Dawood took 3 wickets while Waheed and Aziz shared 2 wickets each.
