Unstoppable Red Dragons won their second straight Team of the Week award and sixth overall but the knocking out of The Replacement at second place in the team standings was all the buzz after the penultimate week of eliminations in the OFBC 3 + 1 Friday Afternoon League 2nd Season at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

The Dragons closed out another perfect evening on 28 points following a 20-0 shutout of Makati Foods on total pinfalls of 1,839 that gave them the top rank points of 8. Makati Foods carded 1,519 pinfalls for 2 rank and total win points.

The Youngsters Revival took over second place on the combination of their gaining 24 points against the bye team at the end of the 13th session and the Replacement’s 16-4 defeat at the hands of Versatile Guys on total pinfalls of 1,657-1,600, rank points of 7-6 and total win points of 23-10.

The Replacement and Youngsters were separated by only 1 point at the start of the day and the result was so bad for Replacement it pulled the team down to fifth.

RJ Transient Houses rebounded from a defeat to Makati Foods to crush Pairs and Spares 18-2 (1,699-1,533 5-3 23-5), as it looks to nail one of three outright berths to the finals along with the Dragons and Youngsters.

The Dragons are a cinch to be the waiting No. 1 with the final placings for the next two berths a toss-up between Youngsters with 237.0 points and RJ with 236.5 points going to the final and positioning round this Friday.

The session was actually a perfect double for the Dragons after Bash Langa captured his second men’s Bowler of the Week award at 637 on scratch lines of 178, 177 and 192.

Besides Bash the others that contributed to the Dragons’ cause were Arman Gamboa, who shot 615 as the second best scorer, Cesar Pagtalunan 176- and Tom Langa 157-159.

From the RJ ranks came the ladies Bowler of the Week in Malou Nidoy who tallied 544 for her third individual plum. RJ skipper Rudy Jamon cared 521 whle Hadi Pacheco and Jack Jarin had 145-169 and 161.

Team captain Toto Lim and Rudy Valenzuela led Youngsters on 538 an 506 while Versatile Guys banked on the trio of Danny Atubang 594, Tirso Bambalan 551 and Danny Francisco 512.
