JEDDAH: Eirad Travels continued their successful run as they beat ECU line by 101 runs to lift Jotun Cup sponsored by Jotun Saudi Arabia and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association.

Eirad Travels batted first and amassed 256 runs in the allotted overs. Asghar and Adnan provided an enviable opening partnership of 162 runs after 11 overs. Asghar was unlucky to miss his century by 2 runs as he was out for an invaluable 98 runs off 33 balls.

Matching him stroke for stroke was the ambitious Adnan who scored 79 runs off 32 balls.

Shad chipped in with a quick 22 off eight balls. Manzoor and Izhar had 2 wickets each for 41 and 28 runs respectively while Imran and Omar had one wicket each for 55 and 39 runs.

In reply ECU Lines was bowled in the last over for only 155 runs. Nisar was the highest scorer with 42 runs. Junaid (18), Imran (15) and Abdul Rahman (15) were the others to offer some resistance. Zakir and Banar claimed 3 wickets each for 21 and 11 runs respectively. Ashgar took 2 for 20 runs.

Muzakkir Bukhari, brand manager of Jotun, said that his company was honored to support JCA for its cricketing endeavor and assured them that the management will continue to do so.

ICAD triumphs

ICAD scored a thrilling seven-run win over Saudi German Hospital in the final to win the Afternoon League organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.

ICAD won the toss and opted to bat first. Shakeel failed once again and was bowled by Ali for just 1run, his partner Waqar added 18 off 24 balls accumulated by singles and doubles. The run getting machine of ICAD Mohsin Kamal hit one six and a four in his contribution of 16 run. Naeem came to the rescue of his team by hitting a quickfire 51 runs off 25 balls.

Later, Munawwar added 19 runs while Waqar managed 16. None other ICAD batsmen reached double figures, ICAD were all out for 151 runs in the 19th over. Kashif and Husnain claimed 3 wickets each for 24 and 29 runs respectively. Ali, Huzaifa and Saqib had one wicket each for SGH.

In reply the Saudi German Hospital were bowled out in the last over for 144 and lost the match for just 7 runs. SGH lost main run getter Taqi for one runs in the second over of the innings. Sibte Hassan and Husnain scored 52 and 50 runs respectively. Huzaifa used long handle and hit a four and a six in his personal score of 15. None of the reaming batsmen reached double figures. SGH lost 3 wickets in their last over for just 4 runs. Rizwan was the wrecker in chief. He claimed 4 for 32 runs including three in the last over. Hassan and Shakeel claimed 2 wickets each for 27 and 29 runs respectively.
