JEDDAH: Ekis Reload made a case for a legitimate title run when it opened a wide gap on its pursuers at the top of the team standings by claiming a second Team of the Week award during the 10th session in the the FTBJ-ICBL 36th Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City here.

Bucking a slow start, Ekis squad of Ernie Geslani won the last two games and overall output to come up with the top tally of 48 points in a comprehensive performance that left the competition totally overshadowed.

Six points adrift in second place on the day was Sky Freight-OSN 42 followed by Pinslashers 38.5, Patsamba 37 and Sagmit Dental Clinic 34.5.

Sadafco was the other team to break 30 points on 31.5 with D’ Barkads on 28, Zekiesha 25 and Saudia Ice Cream 21 points.

Defending champion Hidada Ltd., after a grand slam the previous week, crashed back to earth as it finished the session next to last on 17 points. Hidada was right behind JP Gilas 2 19 points and Crystal Rock n Roll 18.5. United Doctors was last on 4 points.

The day’s honors were evenly distributed with the individual Bowler of the Week awards going to Sharmaine Patayan of Patsamba and Rommel Agbayani of Pinslashers. Sharmaine was the top ladies scorer on 696 while Agbayani rolled the high series of 726 on lines of 201, 238 and 248.

The trio of Emil Payongayong, Malu Gimie and George Mangaliman shot solid series of 689, 663 and 657 to be at the helm of the Ekis onslaught. Alma Bacero teamed with Gimie on the distaff side with valuable 620. Zaldy Bacero added two games of 235 and 252 to go with the single game of 191 by Fadi Haddad.

Emy de Guzman’s Sky Freight employed a six-man rotation led by Oca Bernabe on 649 with the ladies pair of Grace Dasas and Imelda Sayago as the other players to go the distance on 601 and 562. Posting two games each on the board were Bonnie Garcia 216-214, Goying Salazar 227-245 and Ryan Conde 225-191.

Rommel Cagampang followed the lead of Agbayani at Pinslashers to score a fluent 680. Matet Cavite and May Lourdes tossed in 600 and 538 from the distaff side, while the remaining three games had been shared by Roger Daquioag 19-233 and Dariel Laquias 152.

In adition to Sharmaine the other scorers at Patsamba were Benjie Cils 643, Susan Patayan 615, Archie Santos 596 and Nap Patayan 587.
