In the Overseas Filipino Basketball League (OFBL) 2012 tournament at the Time-out Sports Academy on Television Street, Ghulail District, Event Mall got a big lift from the 1-2 punch of Encabo and Castillo to beat Pepsi 102-73.

Encabo and Castillo combined for 38 points, with the former going on to snare Best Player of the game honors. Vallejo added 13 points for Event Mall.

Event Mall never gave Pepsi a chance from the get-go. Encabo was almost perfect with his midrange jumpers, Castillo helped out on both ends of the court and Vallejo displayed fine shooting from the three-point arc. Baluyot showed toughness in scoring and defending as he paced Pepsi with 23 points.

Rabya, starring the so-called Laguna Connection of Reymar Aice and Salud, rounded back to form in a 78-67 triumph over struggling Delta Water.

Aice, named Best Player of the game, scored 18 points to go with multiple steals, while Salud had 15 points in a fine job in the paint.

Only 1 point separated the two teams after the first two quarters but the second half had Aice and Salud dominating the game.

Best Player Alturas scored 27 points in a tremendous performance that helped Airnet win against Nesma 91-86 in overtime.

Airnet proved its worth not only in scoring but also in defense.

After leading the first quarter, Nesma never tasted the lead again though it tied the score at 82. Alturas and company then clamped down on the best players of Nesma to get the win for Airnet.

GCT tasted victory when it downed Hidada 73-59.

Abad was named Best Player of the game with 23 points and Mahilum supported him with 19 points.

G4S won the game against SAJCO 69-66. Escala grabbed Best Player honors with 20 points for G4S.

Jollibee again lost against Almarai Beverages 74-65. Regondola with 23 points was adjudged Best Player. Ulker felt the absence of star player Leo Tablante in a 69-62 beating from V-Cool. Best Player was Caberte who scored 19 points.

In the 40 Above Division, Forty defeated Clear Men 78-70. Best player was Edwin Gadingan who scored 21 points.
