DUBAI: Davidoff Racing Team, under the leadership of Syrian speed racing champion Fadi Hamadah won the first round of UAE International Autocross championship, 2013-14 season, which was held at Jebel Ali in Dubai recently.

Hamadah, on board his Evo 9 prototype, did not let the audience down and presented a thrilling and exciting performance, which showed his driving and maneuvering skills.

Despite the tough local drivers from the Middle East regions, Hamadah proved his skills and expertise in speed races and managed to win in the second attempt before moving on to the third phase where 10 drivers qualified to compete for the title.

The Davidoff Racing Team driver won the title after breaking all records held in the preliminary stages.

Fadi Hamadah, who lives in Saudi Arabia and has bagged many titles to his credit, including the Syrian International Hill Climb in 2005, 2006 and 2008, also won Middle East Hill Climb title Group ‘N’ category in 2004. This is in addition to the several Saudi Autocross races. His major achievement was when he won the Al Hussein Rumman Hill Climb auto race title in 2011.

The second round of UAE International Autocross championship will be held in mid-January.
