RIYADH: Manan Abbasi was the star of the day as he single handedly steered Kohsar Cricket Club to a thrilling Super Over win over Nouman Gymkhana to enter the Sikander Farooqui Memorial cricket final, Riyadh Zone, organized by the Riyadh Cricket Association.

In the semifinals, Manan not only top-scored with 66 runs in his team’s total of 185 runs but later on in the Super Over helped KCC enter the final when he hit a six off the fourth ball of the over. Qasim Abbasi was the other batsman who scored 21 valuable runs for KCC. Mudassir and Amjad took 2 wickets each for the bowling side.

Nouman Gymkhana in reply tied the score at 185. Amjad (48), Mudassir (48), Shahzad (39) and Afzal (21) were the main contributors. Sohail bagged 2 wickets.

In the Super Over bowled by Qasim Abbasi, Nouman Gymhana managed nine runs while Manan finished it off in the fourth ball six for KCC.

In the other semis, Lahore Badshah Green took strike first and scored 210 against Lahore Badshah. Afzal (58), Atif (51) and Jahangir 21 were the main scorers. Shafiq took 2 wickets. Imran XI were restricted to 174 by Zahideen who took 5 wickets. Awais and Jafar got 2 wickets each. Lahore Badshah won by 36 runs.

In Huraymala Zone, Pakistan Falcons outplayed Hyderabadi Warriors by 48 runs. Pakistan Falcons batted first and managed 155 in 20 overs. Hamza held the innings together with a fine 55. Fazal (39) and Waqar (22) were the other run getters. Hassan and Mohammed grabbed 2 wickets each.

Warriors in reply were bundled out for a 107 runs. Hassan made 24. Hamza impressed with his bowling and took 4 wickets. Matiullah and Mohammed also contributed with 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

KFSH Green got the better of Riyadh Fighters in the second semis by 32 runs. KFSH Green batted first and scored 173 runs. Noor (53), Shafeeq (27), Rafaqat (25) and Suhail (25) were among the runs. Riyadh Fighters in reply managed 141. Imran (48) and Nusrat (33) did their best. Suhail Bakhshi did most of the damage and picked up 5 wickets.
