RIYADH: Favorites scored easy wins to enter the second round of the Power Zone Twenty20 cricket tournament, organized by the Riyadh Cricket League, at the RCL complex, here.

Twenty-one teams divided into the Super Division and Premier Division are taking part in this event, which took off recently.

Highlights of the first round matches were impressive batting performances by Zafar, Zeeshan, Tausief, Waqar. Kamran dazzled with the ball while Hassen, Shakeel and Aasif Sheikh dazzled as all-rounders.

Cricket Samarwa beat Royal Fighters CC by 76 runs. Samarwa batted first and put up 195 runs. Zafar was in top form and scored 83 runs. Aasif Sheikh (37) and Shoaib (27) were the other run getters.In reply Royal Fighters were bowled out for 119 runs. Mustafa (22), Sidiqulla (21), Izhar (20) and Qaiser (18) contributed. Zafar and Aasif Sheikh took 2 wickets each.

Cricketers scored 155 runs against Kokan Green. Zeeshan Butt top-scored with 53 runs. Farhan (23) and Mansoor (22) were the other scorers. Faiq, Naeem and Siraj of Konkan took 2 wickets each.

In reply Konkan Green achieved the required total in 16 overs. Tausif (66) and Mansoor (35) were the main scorers. Konkan Green won by 5 wickets.

Riyadh Blues CC won their match against National CC by 81 runs. Riyadh Blues made first use of the wicket and put up 181 runs. Shakeel played an impressive innings of 48 runs. He was supported by Fawaz (37) and Hassan (31).

In reply National collapsed for 100 runs. Azeem (39) and Riaz (22) were the only batsmen who put up some resistance . Hassan bowled well and claimed 4 wickets while Shakeel got 2.

Deccan Stars collapsed for 83 runs. Their top batsmen were Aamir and Bashar, who scored 19 and 11 runs respectively. Kamran of Gujranwala bowled well, he claimed 5 wickets. In reply Gujranwala achieved the target in 7.5 overs. Waqar was in good form and made 50 runs. Gujranwala won by 8 wickets.
