Exciting games continue at FBA basketball tournament as the final leg of semifinal round will be completed today at the Sheraton Jeddah Hotel Sports Complex here.

The highlight of today’s schedule is Game 2 of the Open Rated Division in which Arjed Catering won by 85-82 against Samco-Juffali in the first match of their best-of-three series last Friday.

Should Arjed win again today, which is not unlikely, they will be declared as champion of their division. Roby David delivered big time for Arjed scoring 28 points on the way to Best Player honors and bailing his team out of trouble with clutch baskets after Samco had threatened in the closing minutes. Other top scorers were Mursi Akad with 19 points and Ron Magat 16 points while Adaya 25, Ubalde 13 and Bautista12 led Samco.

Inter-Company Bona fide Division knockout semifinals today pit Saudi Oger team of coach Greg Cabigon against Al-Hamrani Company (RBF) of team managers Abdul Moneam Ali Mahmoud and Robert Jose and coach Francis Gallego and Bright Star Communication (BSC) of coach Ian Diez and team manager Lino Olivawill play against Nesma Holding Company of coach Ricky Pangan and team manager Mazen Munshi.

Jeddah Hilton Hotel of playing coach Jojo De Ocampo and Alvin Antonio failed to enter the finals when a stronger team of Movenpick Resort Al-Nawras of veteran coach Gary Santos beat them by 82-64.

The game registered seven deadlocks in the first and second quarter and Jack Basilio was adjudged Best Player of the game. Al-Bilad Hotel Warriors, the two-time Inter-Hotel defending champion failed to reach the finals this time after a 98-66 upset by Park Hyatt Jeddah Hotel. Barientos with 20 points was named Best Player of the game.

In the Inter-Commercial Open Non-rated Division, Unidecor secured its slot in the finals when they defeated defending champion Paninos 96-82. Dula who scored 21 points was declared as Best Player of the game. Also reaching the final was Maharlikans-Aida’s Cuisine of Omar Llanes and coach Baloloy Rojo who overpowered Nexus 89-68.
