JEDDAH: Long missed in the basketball community, Filsama makes its return at its new home, indoor Stars Stadium in Faisaliah District, on Friday.

Filsama Basketball League under Commissioner Abdulmoen “Teng” Laguialam was happy to announce on Thursday that Al-Hussaini and Al-Yahya Investment Group has agreed to be the title sponsor in the FBL 11th Open Invitational Conference dubbed 1st Orient Watch Cup basketball tournament.

To make this FBL event finally take off there has been a lot of effort invested by FBL. Fortunately for the group, there are friends whose support it can count on chief of whom is Mohamed Bayoumi, a dear friend of the Filipino community and FBL consultant-adviser.

As per Laguiam advice on FBL Facebook page teams are requested to be at the venue at 4 p.m. in time for the opening ceremony to be highlighted by the parade of teams.

The sponsorship of Al-Hussaini and Al-Yahya Investment Group was facilitated by Vice President Sales and Marketing Osman Al-Hussaini.

Also, FBL is being supported by Enjaz-Western Union through Rodelon del Mundo, diaspora manager KSA to Southeast Asia. Marketing representative John Rebulado said Western Union will donate 3 48-inch Samsung LED television sets to be raffled off during the course of the tournament. To be able to participate in the raffle Rebulado said remitters making transaction at Western Union Muraba branch have to drop their transaction stubs at boxes inside the playing venue. A total of 23 teams entered the tournament as follows: Open Rated B Reinforced Division — Sadafco, Friendster-Cabalen Restaurant, Uncle Majid Rice & Toppings, Pepsi, Slashers, Jacob and Rabigh; Open Non Rated — DHL, Pinky’s Team, Noel Ramos Team, Sharbatly, Friendster-Cabalen, Wasalak, Pagadian and Toyota; 40 Above Division — Friendster-Cabalen Restaurant, Airnet Sume, Original Bros., Rabeah Tea, Philippine Consulate Team, BMG, Manila Hot Dog and Paninos.

With Laguialam in the FBL Organizing Committee are Technical Director Allen, Treasurer Rene Valle, Secretary-General Ogie Nucum; table officials Abdullah Portillo, Manny Bandon, Willy Cartagena (play-by-play announcer), marshals Sammy Bongcarawan, Ali, Tha and Ruben Andiam.
