JEDDAH: Favorites GBEST–IT emerged champions in the Islamic Development Bank Inter Entity cricket tournament held under the umbrella of IDB’s Social and Cultural wing SOCOM, sponsored by GBEST and Mohammad Abdallah Baghdadi.

In a thrilling finale, GBEST eked out Operations Complex via the Super Over after both teams were tied after the stipulated 12 overs.

In the Super Over Operations Complex scored nine runs. In reply GBEST got the required runs of the last ball of the over, which was a four.

Earlier, GBEST won the toss and put a challenging total of 103 runs.

Skipper Muzammil top-scored with 29 runs. Shehryar Jawaid (18) and Misbah (11) were the other contributors. Shoaib bagged 3 wickets. In reply Abdul Janjunniya led Operations Complex run chase with an unbeaten 50 runs off 32 balls. Other notable contributions came from Shoaib (12) and Alam (16). Maher, Mudassir and Shehryar bagged one wicket each.

Man-of-the-Match: Abdul Rouf Janjuniya.

Man-of-the-Series: Wasim.

Bowler of the tournament: Muzammil.

Mohammed Shoaib, Asif Mehmood, Hamza Hashim, Ahmed Azam and Abdullah Shah won Man-of-the-Match awards for the semifinals and were presented trophies.

IDB’s Vice President H.E Ahmet Tiktik was the chief guest and former Pakistan ODI and Test player Faisal Iqbal was the Guest of Honor.

Mohammed Abdullah Baghdadi (Director of IT and sponsor of the tournament) with Faisal Iqbal handed over the trophies.

The following members also got the appreciation Trophies.
