GM Pin Pals chased down their breakthrough Team of the Week award during the 12th session in the FTBJ-ICBL 34th Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.

Pin Pals went second-first in the first two games and this hot start cushioned their Team of the Week victory on 35 points over the rest of the contenders most notably Sky Freight Forwarders-TFC.

Sky Freight carried the momentum of a Team of the Week award-winning display the previous week to finish second on 34 points to gain further ground on league leader JP Gilas which tallied 28.5 right behind defending champion Alliance in Motion Global 33.5.

Lance & 3rdy pooled 27 points in 6th place on the day followed by Purefoods Hotdog 26, D’ Barkads 22 and Pin Crushers 21.5.

Hidada Ltd., Lucky Strike and D’ Frontiers filled the last three spots on 20, 12.5 and 4 in that order.

Gerry Mandanas and May Lourdes completed a Pin Pals grand slam by winning the men’s and ladies Bowler of the Week accolades for a sweep of the team and individual honors.

Mandanas shot the high series of 645 on scratch games of 197, 197 and 209 while Lourdes returned 658 on lines of 222, 201 and 163.

Pin Pals, who had the top overall output on 3,072 to make up for a poor third game, also drew 592 from Charrie Guzman, 584 from Efren San Pedro and 553 from Roger Daquiaog.

The trio of Rene Santiago, Oca Bernabe and Babes Tiongson led Sky Freight on 631, 624 and 620 with Rene Santiago on 69 and Imelda Sayago on 558.

Alliance in Motion, still to break into the top three of the team standings, had youthful Michelle Mata and veteran Cris Villavelez at the helm on 643 and 610. Jim Mandigiado added 592, Bonnie Garcia 561 and Merlen Pamintuan 542.

Over at Gilas it was Rene Punzalan and Zaldy Bacero that shot the big games on 640 and 612 that went with the 572 by Rey Beltran, 585 by Jeanette Cerbito and 568 by Lou Punzalan.

Ric Reformado was short by a few pins of 600 with his 594 while leading Lance, which also received 587 from Evelyn Santoc, 585 from Med Ramos, 582 from Ding dela Rosa and Aisah Silabay 559.
