JEDDAH: Barely a month passed and bowling enthusiasts from Saudi German Hospital were happily back at the Ice Land Bowling Center last Friday for the 4th SGH Jeddah Staff Bowling Games.

Green Hawks emerged the champion, shooting the winning score of 1,350 pinfalls on games of 624-726 during the finals featuring the six finalists from a starting field of 12 teams in the tournament with the full support of SGH Group President Sobhi Elbatterjje and SGH Jeddah CEO Dr. Mohamed Ewais as well as the hospital management including Dr. Ezz Alarab and chef Mohamed Elhosainy of the Kitchen Department.

Awais Haider captained the triumphant Green Hawks. The members are Goldie Buhat, Awais Ashraf, Dani Butt, Rocelyn Lecita and Nabeel Ashraf. They received cash prize of SR1,000 plus trophy and individual medals.

Lucky Strikers took second place on 1,262 (653-609). Murshed, Myrna, Lito, KHattab and Ali comprised the team which took home the cash prize of SR500 plus trophy.

The third place with prize of SR300 and trophy went to Gutter Punks who totaled 1,259 pinfalls (654-605). The Gutter Punks players are Jose, Resque, Beth, Keith and Noel.

Pin Busterz, Leave No Pin Standing and two-time winner Incredibowls finished fourth, fifth and sixth on 1,253, 1,141and 1,097 in that order.

The field included two guest teams from SGH subsidiaries Almarouf-Jan Pro.

The male and female single high game award winners were Ryan Cocoy Asic, who played for Pin Busterz from his original team and 2nd Games winner Hot Shots, and Carolyn Rio of Incredibowls. Tasic fired 187 pinfalls and Rio 153 to each win cash gift vouchers of SR200. Hot Shots missed Friday’s event due to lack of players.

Asic tied with teammate Arun on 187 but won the one-frame shootout for the award. Asic, however, shared the cash prize with Arun in a gesture of magnanimity.

Ahmed Ali of the HR Department also expressed his thanks to husband-and-wife team of Toto and Vangie Lim and Roberto Arman Gamboa from Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club (OFBC) for their technical support.
