Longshot Guardians Thunder won a breakthrough Team of the Week award with a perfect total of 28 points and Selections handed league leading Taurus its first defeat during the seventh session in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 4 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

On their way to the maximum possible total the Guardians shut out shorthanded Krau Thai Restaurant 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,767 and 2,372 and rank points of 8 and 1.

Owner of four straight Team of the Week victories, Taurus was made to taste the bitter pill of defeat by Selections which won their match also by a 20-0 shutout on total pinfalls of 2,582-2,426 and rank points of 5-2.

The third shutout of the week belonged to Cyclone which swept the win points in the match against Troopers. Cyclone with total pinfalls of 2,731 and rank points of 7 finished the session on 27 points. Troopers had total pinfalls of 2,452 and rank points of 3.

In the other match, D’ Luf’s Strikers brought down Zikato Strikers 14-6 (2,709-2,529 6-4). Luf’s had 20 total points on the day and Zikato 10.

Tommy Kamal of Cyclone enjoyed a big day while winning the men’s Bowler of the Week award on 640 as he broke all existing records for high series scratch, high series with handicap, high game scratch and high game with handicap when he set new highs of 589, 640, 218 and 235 in that order.

Carmen Duma of D’ Luf’s won her third ladies Bowler of the Week plum on 543.

While Krau Thai had to endure blind score as a result of being one man down, Guardians went full strength drawing a pair of 584s from Ric Tibayan and Jeff Magallanes, 530 from Ross Isabiniano, 526 from Hyeth Achai and 515 from Archie Alcantara.

Selections, the other team besides Taurus and Thunder to win an award, drew 547 and 520 from Louie Pasia and Jude Vivero to go with the 505 by Thea Busico, 483 by Lexter Atienza and 482 by Jhun Ejanda.

Bash Langa complemented Kamal’s effort at Cyclone by shooting 610 with Christopher Sayson and Ramdy del Remedios tied on 493 and Jack Jarin on 474.

Carmen got support from husband Alexander with his 542 at Luf’s that went with the 539 by Tirso Bambalan, 538 by Cromwel Marzo and 525 by Danny Atubang.
