DAMMAM: Gulf Steel and Bin Delamah ADPCO were crowned champions in the premier and first divisions of Sikander Kamal Farooqui Memorial Twenty20 tournament respectively, organized by the Eastern Province Cricket Association.

In the premier final, Gulf Steel got the better of Team Honda by 33 runs while Delamah ADPCO eased past Eastern Arabia by 52 runs in the first division.

Team Honda won the toss and asked Gulf Steel to bat first. Syed Asher Ali (44) and Syed Mehdi Hasan (57) gave their team a flying start as they put on 93 rund after the first 8 overs. Later, Nadeem Abbas (47) and Wirasat (35) propped up the innings and helped their team to a total of 221 from the stipulated overs. Moqeem Ali bagged 2 for 22.

In reply, Team Honda gave in tamely and folded their innings at 188. Imran Chaudhary (62), Imran Noor (31 not out), Kashif (27) and Mohsin were the batsmen who contributed. Asher, Shahid, Wirasat and Asif Mughal took a wicket each.

Tahir and Khaleel were the umpires.

In the other final, Bin Delamah ADPCO batted first and scored 135 for 8 under windy weather conditions. Ali Rizwan scored 26 runs. In reply Eastern Arabia were bundled out for a paltry 83 runs. Kashif Butt did most of the damage and bagged 4 for 18, Shahid Mehmood 2 for 20 and Kannan 2 for 12 gave him good support.

Nayyer Abbas and Osman Ghani were the supervision officials.

Forty-one teams took part in this tourney. EPCA President Farhat Mehmod thanked the committee members, clubs and supporters for their cooperation in making this event a great success.
