JEDDAH: Gunners lifted the trophy in the Jeddah Sports Club Soccer Academy’s fifth in house tournament.

In a thrilling finale watched by a sizable crowd, they came back from a goal down to beat Red Devils 4-3. Dragons overcame Spurs in sudden death in a battle for the third place.

T.P Shuaib, CEO of Al Rayan Polyclinic gave away the trophy to the winners. Former state footballer of Andhra Pradesh Mir Mahmood Ali, former Indian player Najmuddeen, SIFF President Hifsurahman, chief coach PR Saleem, Dr. Zafarullah, Kannur Welfare Forum secretary Tarek Ahmed and Abdul Latheef awarded trophies to the best players.

Muiz Anver (Player of the tournament), Mishal Muhamed, Shuaib Noushad (Budding stars of the tournament), Nufaiz (Best goalkeeper), Amal Naseer (Higest scorer), Basil Naser (Best disciplined player), Arsalan Alam (Best defender), Sahal Zaheer (Best midfielder), Fawaz Ismail (Best forward).

In the closely fought final, Nujoom scored twice for Gunners after they were trailing by an early goal. Amal Naseer and Razeen increased the lead for Gunners. Adil Ashraf found the target twice and Syed Wajahat Qadiri scored through a beautiful long ranger for Red Devils. Adil Ashraf was chosen best player of the final and Anas Basheer, the budding star.

Spurs came back from 2-5 down to draw the match against Dragons. However, Dragons prevailed in the sudden death.

Chairman TP Basheer presided over the closing ceremony, which was attended by P.K. Abdul Ghafour of Arab News.
