JEDDAH – International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ), and Al-Wurood International School got off to flying starts in the Inter-School under-19 cricket tournament in memory of Hamid Rasheed, the Pakistan International School Jeddah (English Section) coach Hamid Rasheed, who passed away recently after a brief illness

IISJ, Al-Waha International School, Al-Wurood, DPS Al-Falah and Pakistan International School Jeddah (PISJ Aziziyah) are taking part in this tourney sponsored and organized by Saudi Cricket Center and played on a round-robin basis.

In the first match IISJ crushed Al-Waha by 9 wickets. Al-Waha posted 104 in 20 overs. Mohammed Mirza was the highest scorer with 44 runs. Twenty-six runs came in the form of extras.

Farhan Patel, who was later adjudged Man-of-the-Match, claimed 3-8, while Hasan took 2-16. IISJ reached the target of 105 for 1 off 73 balls. Farhan Patel to-scored with an unbeaten 53 and Yahya 27.

In the other match, Al-Wurood edged DPS Al-Falah by one run. Al-Wurood, batting first, put on 127 for 6 as Furkhan Sameer hit 46, Mudassir 17, Sheezan 13 and Farhan 11. Viruj took 3 for 7. DPS Al-Falah was unlucky to lose by a run as it was bowled out for 126. Sami Munshi scored 22, Imran 14 and Fawaz 13. Five of its batsmen were run out. Talha bagged 3-15.
