JEDDAH: International Indian School Riyadh were off to a flying start in the inaugural Hamid Rasheed Memorial Inter-School Twenty20 Cricket Tournament organized by the Western Province Cricket Association and sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center.

The Indian school won both their matches in the under-19 and under-16 category when the beat their arch-rivals Pakistan International School Riyadh (English Section) by 99 and 40 runs respectively

In the first match PIS (ES) won the toss and elected to field, which proved a setback as IISR put up a match winning score of 250 runs. Aakefin was the hero for the Indian School as he scored an unbeaten 133 runs. Zuhair and Azaan scored 35 and 27 respectively. Abdullah, Shayan, Zain and Saud took a wicket each. In reply PIS (ES) stumbled at 151 for 5 in the stipulated overs. Shayan was the highest scorer with 22 runs.

Man-of-the-Match: Aakefin.

The under-16 was a closely contested match. IISR set their rivals a target of 186 runs. Skipper Easa led from the front as he top-scored with 59 runs and later went on to take 5 wickets. Shaheer Zafar bagged 5 for 31. PISES gave a befitting reply but were bundled out for 146 in 19 overs. Hisham Raja and Irtaza were the highest scorers with 23 and 21 respectively.
