Four first round matches were played at the weekend in Haseena Begum Memorial Cup 2014 cricket tournament under the aegis of Medina Cricket Association here.

Sky War vs. Pak Eagle: Pak Eagle defeated Sky War by 20 runs. Batting first, Pak Eagle scored a big total of 191. Fayaz contributed 34, Touseef 42 and Shakeel contributed 36 runs, while from Sky War Mubashir and Adnan each got two wickets. Chasing the target, Sky War could only manage 170 and lost the match. Usman was Sky War’s top scorer on 51 runs including six boundaries and two huge sixes. Jhangir added 46. Asif claimed three wickets and Touseef two.

Airport Eleven vs. Pepsi Medina: Airport Eleven recorded victory over Pepsi Eleven by 23 runs. Airport batsmen tallied 191 runs against Pepsi Medina. Zakir, back in form, played a fine knock of 79 runs that included 15 boundaries. Imran, Touseef and Arshed helped their team with 23, 36 and 14 runs respectively. Iftikhar from Pepsi Medina captured four wickets. In reply, Pepsi also worked hard but failed to get the target. Pepsi Eleven scored 167 runs. Asif was highest scorer on 58 runs with the help of nine fours. Shamraiz added 24 while Asad had 32 runs.

Pak Eagle vs. United Stars: United Stars were all out very cheaply against Pak Eagle while the score on board was only 91 runs. Atique and Imran had double figure scores of 27 and 14runs respectively. Shahid from Pak Eagle managed to get three wickets in his allotted quota of four overs. Sajjad and Rashid each bagged two wickets. In reply, Pak Eagle reached the target in only eight overs to win the match by 9 wickets. Fayaz Chauhan scored 45 runs not out and Touseef contributed 34.

Hasnain vs. Pak Medina: Batting first, Hasnain Eleven scored 181 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Khali did well with ball and bat, scoring 57 runs and claiming three wickets while bowling. Abdul Karim scored 39 runs. Afsar and Toufeeq shared four wickets equally. In reply, Pak Medina gave tough time to Hasnain Eleven but then lost the game by small margin of 16 runs. Toufeeq stood firm with 67 runs off 52 balls with eight boundaries. Tariq scored 25 and Salim 21 runs.
