JEDDAH: Defending champion Hidada Ltd. finally made noise in a big way when it posted a grand slam on the way to winning its breakthrough Team of the Week award during the 9th session in the the FTBJ-ICBL 36th Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City here.

Silent for much of the tournament, Nanding Siasoco’s Hidada squad came up with the top tally of 44 points to claim team honors while also putting away the ladies and men’s Bowler of the Week plums courtesy of Pinky Acato and Amro Al Amri.

Pinslashers edged out previous week honoree Zekiesha for second place by the slimmest of margins 41.5 to 41 points.

Sky Freight-OSN compiled 36 points at fourth position on the day followed by league leader Ekis Reload 31 and Sadafco 29 points.

JP Gilas 2 and Sagmit Dental Clinic tied on 27 points with D’ Barkads on 25 and Cristal Rock n Roll 22.

And in what could well be the biggest casualty of the day Saudia Ice Cream was down to only 18.5 points after becoming the latest to suffer punishment on lanes 3-4, as it slipped a notch to third position in the team standings.

Patsamba and United Doctors brought up the rear on 16 and 4 points respectively.

Acato and Amri set high series of 636 and 703 in their respective divisions at the helm of a consistent Hidada display that saw Nonie Yap and Cesar Monares hit 643 and 608.

Lenlen Berina partnered Acato from the distaff side on 530 in a five-man team Hidada rotation.

Rommel Agbayani and Dariel Laquias shot full gmaes of 688 and 648 to be at the forefront of Pinslashers where the ladies pair of May Lourdes and Matet Cavite returned 628 and 589 to go with the 174-214 by Roger Daquioag and 213 by Rommel Cagampang.

Randy Mata and Nezar Al Hamwe led Zekiesha on 690 and 636 with Grace Funtilon on 562 and Gail Mata on 560.

Veteran Goying Salazar was the main man at Sky Freight on 670 with Grace Dasas on 601, Babes Tiongson 578, Oca Bernabe 217-204, Bonnie Garcia 235-187 and Ryan Conde 192-201.

Ekis Reload had Alma Bacero on 618, Fadi Al Hadad 601, Zaldy Bacero 597, Emil Payongayong 190-180 and George Manglaiman 235.
