DHAHRAN: The ladies golf team from Dirab Golf and Country Club, captained by Roberta Hobbs, traveled to the Eastern Province last week for the annual friendly invitational competition, hosted by the Rolling Hills Golf Club Ladies League in Dhahran.

An exciting “Swing for the Bling” 9-hole competition on Monday afternoon, saw two Dirab ladies, Sigrid Steinarsdottir and Eilish Byrne, tie for longest drive and Dirab’s Roselyne Delpon de Vaux win closest to the pin.

On Tuesday a closely fought 18-hole match play competition with nine two-ball teams resulted with Rolling Hills Golf Club winning by one match. There were 3 outright wins for RHGC and 2 for DGCC with 4 matches finishing in a tie.

The event was superbly organized by Captain Kerri Wethington, with help from Angela Bryson. A particular thanks to Florence and Les Flintham for gathering the sponsors that provided prizes for the event. A sumptuous gala dinner and awards luncheon were hosted by Karla Manzano de Cox and Liz Wilder respectively.

The Dirab Ladies Group is looking forward to hosting the return match at the beginning of next year at Dirab Golf and Country Club in Riyadh.
