Hyundai Castrol of Dennis Elmenzo defeated United Naghi 74-58 at the Ahmed Mohammed Abdul Wahab Naghi Sports Complex in Ash Shati District here.

Hyundai Castrol played a trapping defense in the second half to halt the shooting rampage of United Naghi in the two quarters of the game. Malik top-scored with 17 points for Hyundai Castrol and was adjudged as the Lifestylez Best Player of the game while Recayo scored 24 points for United Naghi.

Fuddruckers of Elmer Delos Santos beat Jaguars 63-44. Fuddruckers showed determination in the final quarter as Jaguar fighting hard even playing only with one big man to man their shaded area. Fuddruckers’ inside games left Jaguars with a tough fight to handle. Sabang contributed 20 points for Fuddruckers and was adjudged as the JBL Best Player of the game while Drake led the Jaguars with 16 points.

GIG of Ernie Cabawatan defeated Power Center 99-65 to qualify in the semifinals round in the Inter-Company Division A. GIG defense proved the big difference in the final quarter as Power Center committed crucial turnovers and missed their target. GIG went to the open man for the higher percentage baskets. Edward top-scored with 19 points for GIG and was adjudged as the Al Haddaf Best Payer of the game while Garcia scored career high 40 points for Power Center.

Petro Rabigh of Omar Agpalo beat Unicorp 87-69. Unicorp managed to control the tempo of the game up to the third quarter. Petro Rabigh regrouped to start the fourth quarter and applied man-to-man defense and slowly grab the driver seat from Unicorp. Unicorp lost their steam in the crucial 2 minutes of the game. Ancheta had 18 points for Petro Rabigh and was adjudged as the Arab News Best Player of the game while Pabustan chipped in 26 points for Unicorp.

Meanwhile, next Friday Game 1 of the best-of-three championship series for Inter-Company Division takes place between winners of GIG-Fame and Petro Rabigh-FCCI matches. In the Inter-Commercial Division, Nexus Flight Services and Solid North will play a knock out game championship.
