JEDDAH: The International Indian School Jeddah (under-18) and JSC Soccer Academy (under-15) secured exciting wins at the Dunk ground last Friday to set up final meetings with Dunk Spanish Academy teams in the respective categories of the JSC–Jotun Young Soccer League Tournament.

The first match saw IISJ edge JSC Soccer Academy by a solitary goal. IISJ has its goalkeeper Mashood Ali to thank for making its day with brilliant saves. The performance also won him the Player of the Match.

Akhil proved to be a super sub as he scored the match winner for IISJ after a goalless first half. The second stanza saw JSC also make a few moves through Arsalan, Anas Basheer, Shabin and Sahal. However all their attempts were futile. IISJ’s defenders Omar and Nihal and midfielder Fawad Kareem managed to keep the JSC attack under check.

In the second outing, JSC got the better of IISJ by a similar margin to enter the final against Dunk Spanish Academy under-15.

The first half saw a few clear chances but both the teams defended well. After a goalless first half, Arshaq scored the match winner following a brilliant solo effort. He also picked up the Player-of-the-Match award.

In a late match, Dunk Spanish Academy under-15 team blanked Eritrean International School 3-0 to move into the final. Faisal Ali scored a brace that also helped him claim the Player-of-the-Match award. Abdullah Gaed put the result beyond any doubt with the third goal.

Abdul Salam, managing director of Alpha Cargo; Mohammed Ali, managing director of Jeddah National Hospital, and Diler Abdul Gani, area supervisor of Universal Motors Agencies, were the guests of honor.

The finals will be held on Friday (April 29). The first match between Dunk Spanish Academy and JSC Academy (under-15) will kick off at 7:00 p.m. The second final will be between Dunk Spanish Academy and IISJ (under-18).
