JEDDAH: SIFF Rabea Tea Championship witnessed 3 spectacular matches at the weekend before packed galleries.

In first inter-school match Indonesian International School crushed Bangladesh International School by 5-0. Bangladesh no match for Indonesians who

dominated the game throughout. Indonesians, last year finalists, missed few chances in the beginning but started scoring in 10th minute by stylish midfielder Ansari who scored the first hat trick of tournament. Husni and Ziad also hit target to complete score sheet 5-0.

Bangladesh missed an opportunity to reduce margin as Tanweer’s penalty brilliantly saved by Indonesian goalkeeper Badur. Ansari was named man of the match and received trophy from Mohammed Ali Chundakkadan.

In C division match, Friday F.C. did a classy display but had to pay for failing to score while Blue Star Seniors utilized scoring opportunities 3-0. Friday F.C. had upper hand with perfect passing and playmaking in first half. Against the run of play, Blue Star scored as Jassir gave a defense braking pass to Saheer Bava who brilliantly defeated Friday FC keeper Junaid 1-0. In 3rd minute of second half Fasil scored from an assist by Saheer Bava (2-0). Friday F.C. defender Irfan did a magnificent performance in defense, but got marching order for a dangerous tackle from behind, which weakened Friday F.C further. In 12th minute Fasil completed his double., catching a miss pass from one short shaky defense of Friday FC (3-0). Fasil Cholayil was man of the match and trophy given by Abdullah Kazhayikkal.

In B division match, Town Team Strikers defeated a fighting Falcon F.C. of Tual 5-2. In very 3rd minute a Falcon F. C. escaped an early shock as their goalkeeper Radha Krishnan did a full length finger tip save to stop a powerful shot from Rasik. But Rasik scored after a while to give his team an early lead (1-0). Even after falling frequently to Falcon FC’s offside trap, Town Team’s hard working Shihabudheen scored in 20th minute with a running shot (2-0). Falcon F.C’s Radha Krishnan did an eye-catching performance under the bar. In 25th minute Falcon got a penalty as Keeper Faisal stopped Falcon’s Sabith from a sure goal. Sanjeed’s powerful shot gave no chance to keeper Faisal 2-1.

In second half spirited Falcons played better and Abdul Jabar equalized after converting a 40 meter free kick 2-2. But Town Team grabbed lead next minute through Rasik’s solo goal (3-2). Falcon missed another chance to equalize as their Mohammed Ashraf’s grounder just missed the target. Nisthar of Town Team who displayed brilliant play making in middle scored from penalty (4-2).

Just before final whistle, Town Team Strikers struck again, a calculated assist from Nistar, Rasik completed his Hat trick by overcoming Falcon’s keeper Radha Krishnan (5-2). Rasik Puthyathodi received man of the match trophy from Ajith Kumar, Sales Director, Middle East VLCC and Pradeep Kumar, Marketing Manager, Middle East VLCC along with Sharafudheen Kayamkulam of OICC Jeddah.
