JEDDAH: The Jeddah All Star Amity surprised favorites Sporting United Jeddah 4-2 via the tie breaker to lift the Amity Cup, sponsored by Amity University and organized by Indian Youth Welfare Association (IYWA).

Both teams failed to score during stipulated time. In the shootout, Omar, Fawaz, Saad Nasser and Mashood found the mark for the winners and Shabin Rasheed and Nabeel Hashir scored for the runner-up.

The soccer tourney was held to commemorate the 66th Republic Day of India and was played at the Blue Star ground, near Baladiya Park, Khalid bin Waleed Street.

The event was joyful for the young players between the age group 12-18, who attend from different schools, from different states back home and speak diverse languages, representing different teams in this football tournament.

The match was supervised by Rasheed Maliyakal while Shareef and Ashraf were linesmen.

Mohammed Noor Rahman Sheikh was the chief guest and gave away the winner’s trophy and medals to Jeddah All Star Amity–XI captain Sahal.

S.R.H. Fahmi was the guest of honor and gave away the runner-up trophy and medals to Sporting United Jeddah captain Shabin Rasheed.
