JP Gilas Striker notched a Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double to effectively keep its closest pursuers at bay during the 13th session in the FTBJ-ICBL 34th Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.

Once under threat from Sky Freight-TFC Gilas instead widened the gulf separating the sides, shooting the top taly of 37 points.

Purefoods Hotdog was the second best on the day with 35 points followed by defending champion Alliance in Motion Global on 33 points.

Hidada Ltd. and previous week honoree GM Pin Pals tied on 32 points as the last teams to cross the 30 points barrier.

Lucky Strike compiled 27 points, D’ Frontiers had 25, Pin Crushers 16, Sky Freight 13 while D’ Barkads and Lance & 3rdy brought up the rear on 8 and 6.

Gilas manager Paolo Allego led from the front for his team by clinching the Bowler of the Week award after shooting the high series of 656 on lines of 213, 238 and 193.

After winning the first two games Gilas never looked back with Rey Beltran and Jeanette Cerbito backing up Allego on 654 and 630. Zaldy Bacero and Lou Punzalan added 574 and 570.

Purefoods, which finished third place in the last conference under the colors of Paradise Brand, had the duo of Marie Gumpal and Igna Salgado showing the way on 618 and 617. Malou Nidoy on 557 was the other player to go the distance. With two games each were Cesar Monares 186-194, Joel Nidoy 226-195 and Majid Aslani 218-242.

Michelle Mata was the ladies Bowler of the Week on 641 as she led the defending champions, with Merlen Pamintuan on 590. Danny Pamintuan carded 573, just in front of Bonnie Garcia 570, while Cris Villavelez tallied 200-205 and Randy Mata, fresh off his fourth perfect game feat in the OSN Saturday night league, returned 228.

Hidada’s session saw Pinky Acato and Jun Palacios reach 600 on 633 and 617 respectively. Romy Bunagan and Grace Siasoco contributed 579 and 513 while Nonie Ya had 176-236 and Nanding Siasoco 215.
