The in-house football tournament of Jeddah Sports Club Soccer Academy kicked off last Friday with its talented young members displaying their skills in two marvelous matches that ended up in draws.

JSC Red Devils were having a two-goal lead in their first match with JSC Dragons but the latter rose to the occasion and beat the enemy goalkeeper by striking twice on their post in a dramatic turnaround of the game.

Man of the match captain Basil Nasser and Saleh Sulaiman scored for Red Devils while Sahal Saheer and captain Fawaz Ismail scored for Dragons. Sabeel Sudeer was declared the budding star of the match.

The second match saw JSC Spurs locking horns with JSC Gunners in a sizzling show. Gunners were leading with two goals scored by Mehsin Shaukat and Amal Naseer but Muez Anwar of Spurs stopped their march by putting the ball in the net twice.

Muez Anwar was the man of the match while Adeeb Iqbal was declared the budding star in the second match. Both matches were held at Dunk Ground behind IKEA showroom on Sitteen Road.

The tournament began with a marchpast attended by participating teams including academy members under nine years of age. Indian soccer star Najmuddin of Titanium opened the tournament. The matches will be held on Fridays from 7 a.m.
