JEDDAH: Kashmir-XI scored a thrilling two-wicket win over Reel & Rom during fourth week matches of the Division I cricket league organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.

In another match of the morning session for the Reel & Rom Cup, Zia-Ul-Haque of MHA hit a record 187 runs to help his side rout Al Khulais-XI by 219 runs.

Reel & Rom batted first against Kasmir-XI and were all out for 150. Waheed (17), Imran (23), Irfan (18) and Qasim (23) were the main scorers. Sami wrecked the rival batting order and claimed 4 for 20. Mukhtar 2 for 26 and Nadeem had 2 for 12 were the others who were among the wickets.

In reply the Kashmir-XI reached their target and scored 152 for 8. Gowhar (37), Anas (50 not out) made the win possible. Bilal’s 6 for 16 was to no avail.

Elsewhere, MHA piled up 349 for 2. Zai-Ul-Haq became the highest scorer of the league with a record 187 runs, which came off 52 balls. He was involved in a record 265-run opening partnership with partner Abdul Rahman who made 47 runs.

Others who contributed for MHA were Khalid and Sher with unbeaten 36, and 27 respectively. Extras were 59 runs.

In reply the Al Khulais were bundled out for a paltry 130 runs. Javed (37) and Majid Bhatti (28) put up some resistance. Ehtisham bagged 4 for 10, skipper Riaz Afridi had 2 for 24 and Khalid took 2 for 23.

Exciting win for Old Students

During the third week of the afternoon matches, Old students scored an exciting eight-run victory over Saudi German Hospital. Elsewhere, Shaheen routed Peeran Warriors by 7 wickets while Peeran-XI eased past ICAD by 6 wickets

Old Students elected to bat first after they won toss and scored 211 for 4 in their allotted overs. Imran (53), Abdul Qadir (56 not out) and Omar (65) were the main scorers. Taqi-Ur-Rehman bagged 2 for 34.

In reply Saudi German Hospital fell short and were bundled out for 203.

Irfan (56), Taqi-Ur-Rehman (45) and Hassan (40) were among the runs.

Arif had 2 for 30 while Abdul Qadir took 3 for 35.

In another match, Peeran Warriors batted first and scored 177 for 7 against Jeddah Shaheen. Mehtab top-scored with 88 runs. Nadeem made an unbeaten 28 while Rashid was not out on 21. Abdul Rauf had 3 for 38.

In reply the Jeddah Shaheen reached their target and scored 180 for 3.

Faisal Shahzad hit a match winning unbeaten innings of 91. Others who contribution were Tariq (24) and and Nazim (36). Zulfiqar took 2 for 19.

Elsewhere, two-time champions ICAD batted first and collapsed for 127 for 9. Mohsin (22), Jinto (23) and Naseer (29) were the scorers.

Skipper Zaheer Peeran did most of the damage and bagged 4 for 30. He was supported by Shafi 2 for 15 and Saud 2 for 2.

In reply the Peeran-XI reached the target 133 for 4 off 15 overs.

Shafique (36) and Sarfaraz (31) were instrumental in their team’s win.

Shakeel 2 for 20 and Mohsin 2 for 24 were the successful bowlers.
