RIYADH: Pak Shaheen and KFSH entered the final from the Al-Kharj Zone in the American Express T20 cricket tournament, organized by the Riyadh Cricket Association, recently.

In the semifinals, Pak Shaheen trounced Lahore Badshah by 104 after they made first use of the track and put on board 219 runs. Ibrar-Ul-Haq top-scored with 76 runs followed by Faisal Khan (35) and Abdul Wahab (28). In reply, Lahore Badshah were bundled out for 115. Abdul Wahab and Abdul Salman took 3 wickets each while Ibrar-Ul-Haq got 2.

In the other semifinal, Amir Holidays caved in tamely and folded at 155 for 9. Sajid Saeed (32) and Sami Arshad (24) were the main scorers. Latafat picket up 3 wickets while Raja Gulraiz finished with 2. KFSH reached their target off 17.2 overs. Qaiser Hussain (64) and Nasir Abbasi (42) made that possible.

HURAYMALA ZONE (quarterfinals):

In the first quarterfinal, KFSH Green put on board 168 runs. Javid and Toufeeq took 2 wickets each. Warriors achieved their target off 18.2 overs. Abdulaziz was the highest scorer with 62 runs. Later Abdulrahim (40) and Premnawaz (30) scored the required runs and helped their team win by 8 wickets.

Riyadh Fighters struggled to get past Hyderabadi Warriors by 26 runs. Fighters batted first and scored 186 runs. Hameed (58), Yassir (42) and Omer (21) impressed with the bat. Warriors managed 160. Nusrat took 3 wickets while Imran got 2.

FUCHS eased past Falcons by 35 runs. FUCHS batted first and scored 207 runs. Thanks to a marvellous innings from Nazim Ali who scored 92 runs. Shahbaz supported him with 34. Sajjad and Farrukh took 3 wickets each. Falcons fell short by 35 runs and scored 172. Kashif (53), Farrukh (33) and Moazam (22) did their best. Hafiz Asghar took 3 wickets while Nazim Ali and Owais shared four.

The last quarterfinal Star XI scored a thrilling 2-wicket win over Lahore Cricket Club. LCC batted first and scored 173 for 8. Asif took 3 wickets and Amjad 2. Star XI achieved their target after 19.5 overs. Bilal (60), Abbas (25) and Kashif (19) made that possible.

RIYADH ZONE (quarterfinals):

Pakistan Falcons scored 192 for 9. Tila Yousafzai (63) and Matiullah (37) were the main run-getters. Raheel took 3 wickets while Alwi supported him with 2. Grundfos fell short of target by 24 runs. Yasser (85) and Alwi (25) did their best. Rizwan took 3 wickets.

In the another match, Sunil Kulai scored a brilliant 102 to steer Royal Strikers past Lahore Badshah by 32 runs. Yashik Alangad later propped up the innings with 41 runs. Lahore Badshah Green were bowled out for 149 runs. Subair Hassan impressed with the ball and bagged 5 wickets.

The Warriors scored 180 against Imran XI. Adil Khan (79), Zeeshan (37) and Sameer (23) impressed with the bat. Imran XI in reply fell short by 40 runs and scored 140. Majed got 39 runs. Adil Khan and Farhan Rauf took 3 wickets each.

In the last quarterfinal, Nouman Gymkhana got the better of TBCC by 6 wickets. TBCC batted first and scored 143 for 9. Faisal (40) and Cheriyan (36) did their best. Afzal took 4 wickets while Amjad and Mudassar got 2 each. Nouman Gymkhana achieved their target off 14 overs. Afzal (60) and (48 not out) were the main scorers.
