RIYADH: King Faisal Blues emerged champions in the Al-Kharj League final when they outplayed Lahore Lions by 24 runs to bag the Saudi Arabian Investment Bank Cup, in the Riyadh Cricket League organized tourney.

In the other Twenty20 finals, Super Cricket Club edged past King Faisal Specialists Hospital Green by seven runs to triumph in the Huraymala League, Watan Pal got the better of PPF by six runs to bag the Hayer League title and in the Diriyah League, Saudi Zaas eased past Challengers XI by 19 runs.

In the 40-over final, Lahore Lions won the toss and elected to field first. However, King Faisal Blues did well and totaled 312 for 9. Openers Nasir Abbasi (50) and Ayaz (26) gave their team a good start. The middle order later propped the innings, thanks to Munawar Shafi (83), Saqib (30), Usman (28), Iftikhar (22) and Khurram 21. Nawaz, Muzaffar and Hassan picked 2 wickets each.

In reply, Lahore Lions managed 288 for 7. Hassan top-scored with 71. Other notable contributions came from Muzaffar (48), Qamar (36), Mubashar (35), Fahad (31) and Ali (28). Imtiaz Ahmed took 4 for 56, Iftikhar Ali 2 for 27 and Munawar Shafi 1 for 57.

In an closely fought encounter of the Huraymala League, Super CC used the wicket first after they won the toss and totaled 175 runs. Rashid Mirza scored 41 and Azhar 36. For Greens, Adnan bowled well and picked 4 wickets while Tahir Abbasi got 2 wickets. KFSH Green in reply managed 168 runs. Sharif (33), Kauser (29) and Ubaid (22) were the scorers. Nouman picked 3 wickets while Rashid Mirza got 2 respectively.

In Hayer League, Watan Pal batted first posted 164 runs. Sulaiman Khan was the highest scorer with 61 runs followed by Waqar Ali’s 41. Amir picked 2 wickets. Riyadh Fighters PPF in reply fell short and scored 158. Zainullah, Abdulrahim, Abdulquraish and Waqar Ali picked 2 wickets each.

In Diriyah League, Saudi Zaas batted first put up 144 for 9. Danish Zafar (24), Fahim (22) and Faisal (21) were the run getters. Samar picked 4 for 26 while Naleem got 2 wickets. Challengers XI in reply managed 125 runs. Ahsan (47) and Karthick (22) were the scorers. Danish Zafar picked 4, Muzaffar 3 and Faizan 2 wickets respectively.
