JEDDAH: Samaco and LeMall-Alshaya debuted with victories during the second week with full slate of games in the 1st TSA Basketball First Conference on Television Street on the outskirts of Jeddah.
Erwin Carpena’s LeMall had its 16-point third quarter lead cut to four points but then managed to finish strong in an 87-77 victory over Roland;s SETE-LJPP Warriors in the nightcap of the regular quaruplebill.
Friday’s action was kicked off with the first game, a Barkadahan Non-Rated Division contest between Samaco of Bash and Ruel’s Dabarkadz. This game ended 83-60 to Dabarkadz who pounded the Samaco defense all game long.
Beaten 88-68 by Rabya in the tournament opening day last week, AIC team of Jerry vented its ire on Al Muraj and came out with an impressive 73-53 victory in the Inter-Company Bonafide Non-Rated Division. AIC, drawing on a wealth of experience it gained in the last tournament, was in well in control of the game.
Al Nahdi Pharma, the team of Abdul Majid and Jun Laron, followed its 89-754 win over Naval Base (KFNB) with a 91-74 victory over Rabya in the third game.
The win put Al Nahdi in the solo lead in its division on 2-0 win-loss record.
TSA Chairman Rocky Gil said his group’s activities are held morning and evening. He is inviting teams to register for the coming morning league that will start first week of December.
