JEDDAH: Kanoo Divisions Logistics, Machinery, P&IP and Travel qualified for the semifinals of the Kanoo Inter Division six-a-side tournament, sponsored by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group for its employees and co-sponsored by AXA Insurance and Maersk Line. In the last week matches unbeaten Logistics in 5 matches finally met their match at the hands of Machinery who slowly and steadily have been gaining form thanks due to the prolific forms of their all-rounders Fahim, Vatshan and Indika. In the semifinals favorites Logistics will take on P&IP whereas upcoming Machinery clash with Travel.

Machinery batted first scored 78. Thanks to Vatshan (21), Indika (23) and Fahim (17 n.o.) in 5 overs. Chasing team BDP were bundled out for 44 runs with only Oliver 17 (n.o) being the lone fighter. Tight bowling by Vatshan, Imran Raju and Suresh with a wicket each gave Machinery a big win by 34 runs.

Man-of-the-Match: Indika.

Logistics batted first scored 77 for 2 after 5 overs with Imran Sheradi 57 runs (n.o) and Zahir Joharan 14 runs (n.o) put on 71 runs in just 26 balls for the 3rd wicket after both openers were dismissed in the first over. Vatshan took 2 for 18. Machinery knocked off the required runs and scored 78 for 2 in 4.4 overs with Vatshan (28), Naseef (28 n.o) and Fahim (15 n.o) to give Machinery a crucial win.

Finance scored 68 with Sami 30 and Nabil 20 succeeded in giving a good start. Ashfaq took 2 wickets. Maersk line chased down the target and scored 69 in 4.4 overs with Waseem (38) and Asad (23) for a comfortable win.

Put in to bat Machinery batsmen Fahim (46 n.o) and Bilal (23) plundered runs to put up 87 runs in 5 overs. Finance were no match for them and were bundled out for 45 runs. Only Kamoor (13) and Zaki (14) in double digit as Machinery won by 42 runs.

Man-of-the-Match: Fahim

Put in to Maersk scored 89 runs in 5 overs with the help of Asad (49 n.o), Waseem (23) and Anees (14). Travel started strongly with openers Mubeen (38 n.o) and Yasas (27) took off from the first ball but could not sustain due to strong bowling of Maersk who restricted them to 72 and won by 17 runs.
