After three months of tennis action at Al Yamama courts here Magalang Team emerged champion in the recent 11th Bayanihan Cup organized by Pinoy Netters 102.

The tournament had a starting field of 12 teams and 144 players that was pared down to the top 6 , which will be feted at the awards ceremony cum induction of the new set of Pinoy Netters officers/members next Friday.

Matikas Team took the 1st runner-up position with Maliksi 2nd runner-up, Marangal 3rd runner-Up, Magiting 4th runner-up, and Masigasig, living up to its moniker which means persistent in English, 5th runner-up.

The team names for this year’s Bayanihan Cup Team Tennis Tournament were taken from the Filipino core values such as Magiting, Maliksi, Masigasig, Makabayan, Marubdob, Matikas, Malakas, Marangal, Masipag, Masinop, Mabalasik and Magalang.

Meantime, Jonathan Del Pilar leads the new Pinoy Netters office bearers for 2014 as president. Arvin Bermudez is the VP Internal Affairs, Bong Matutina VP External Affairs, Dodie Vizcarra Secretary, Ysmael Siojo treasurer, and Ting Banday as Auditor.

The new members of the Board of Directors are: Sadat Albakil, Ting Banday, Bong Bueta, Tony Fernandez, Jonathan Del Pilar, Ed Duco, Fidel Ferrer, Richard Go, Rommel Gomez, Albin Guinto, Bobot Mabini, Matutina, Ed Sarmiento, Chito Umandal and Vizcarra.
