Makati Foods, The Youngsters Revival and Versatile Guys were the qualifiers from the repechage round to complete the five-team stepladder final cast in the OFBC 3 + 1 Friday Afternoon League 2nd Season at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

They posted the highest scores during the knockout game of three handicap series for teams ranked 3 to 7 in the league’s 15th session with Makati Foods on 1,506, Youngsters 1,392 and Versatile 1,383 to be the finalist No. 3, 4 and 5 in that order.

The Red Dragons and RJ Transient Houses are the waiting top two finalists.

In the first stepladder match, Youngsters and Versatile square off with the winner to meet No. 3 Makati Foods and they in turn slug it out for the third match against No. 2 RJ Transient Houses.

The match 3 winner gets the right to challenge No. 1 Red Dragons for the championship crown in a two-game series matchup.

Makati Foods had a single set of three players whose scores counted toward the team total in team captain Bob Stone, Archie Alcantara and Benj Espinosa.

Stone shot games of 175, 166 and 177, Alcantara had 126, 180 and 213 while Espinosa tallied 130, 179 and 160.

At Youngsters Rudy “RV” Valenzuela was the only player to go the distance with games of 162, 153 and 161. Co-captain Toto Lim returned 160-164, his daughter Carms contributed 132-160 and wife Vangie managed 159-141.

Getting the job done for Versatile Guys were Tirso Bambalan with 159,171 and 144, Danny Atubang (145,173), Joel Alegre (192) and Danny Francisco (119,130,150).

Missing out on the finals were Pairs & Spares (1,652) and The Replacement (1,538), which looked strong in third place entering the last two weeks of eliminations and at one point second in the team standings only for it to lose these gains in a downward spiral of a disappointing finish to what started as a promising season.
