JEDDAH: In the SIFF Rabea Champions League it was mind blowing day for packed spectators as 12 goals were scored in 3 matches, stopping goal famine of previous games.

In C division match, fighting Youth India FC lost to United Sports Club B by a goal in dying minutes of the game. In very 3rd minute Youth India FC escaped a massive attack of United Sports Club. Youth Indian defense were shaky in first half. In second half Youth India slowly came back to the game. On other side a well stitched attack by United’s Shabeeb and Musthafa missed the target. Before 3 minutes to final whistle United Sports Club’s Jafeer took a powerful shot from outside the box and Youth India keeper Fakrudheen was about to punch it away. Mohammed Rafi, striker of United Sports Club who was on front line, beautifully twisted the ball with his head to change flight of ball and Youth India goalkeeper was helpless 1-0. Mohammed Ali of Youth India was named as man of the match and trophy given by C K Morayoor.

In B division match, Blasters Combined and Rehab FC Yanbu tied (1-1). Blasters missed a good chance for early lead as in 3rd minute, striker Aslam failed to connect a calculated through pass from Baderdudhin. In first half a bullet shot from Ameen of Rahab FC Yanbu just missed target. Blasters dominated the first half thanks to brilliant playmaking of their talented midfielder Baderdudhin who became gallery’s favorite with his accurate passes and moves. In 4th minute of 2nd half in an excellent build up of Blasters from behind Baderudhin lobbed the ball to substitute Mohammed Fahis. His running shot from almost right middle of the ground landed in left top corner of Yanbu post which didn’t gave any chance to goalkeeper Mohammed Shafi (1-0). Blasters Combined FC’s Baderudhin received man of the match trophy from Ismail Kallayi.

The third match of the day in B division yielded 9 goals on the scoreboard, easily was one of the best matches of the tournament so far. Makkah Indian FC vs Jeddah FC 6-3.

Makkah Indian FC weighed more on paper, boosted by bringing Mohammed Rasi and Naufal from Kerala. Rasi anchored the game from middle and was behind almost all their moves while Naufal was unstoppable in front. Match was not one sided as score card indicated, with non-stop attacks and counter attacks to the delight of the crowd.

Makkah took an early lead when a corner kick by Naseer Nalukandi landed on right side of Jeddah FC’s goal post past goalkeeper Mohammed Basheer 1-0. Within 2 minutes Jeddah FC equalized. With a magnificent assist from middle Ameer Madathil shot the ball into the net from 40 meters out 1-1. After a number of speedy attacks from both sides Jeddah FC took lead in 15th minute by midfielder Mohammed Suhail (1-2). Supported by cheering spectators visitors equalized in next minutes through Siddiq 2-2, his shot from inside box landing in Jeddah FC net without any resistance.

Makkah increased the lead after 5 minutes, by Naseer and again by Siddiq by heading a brilliant cross by Sainul Abdin 4-2. Jeddah FC made number of attempts to Makkah goal but couldn’t beat their keeper Mohammed Rafi . Makkah scored again (5-2) in first half for a comfortable lead, a solo goal by speedy striker Mohammed Naufal.

Jeddah FC defenders Mohammed Haneefa and Moosa Razi did excellent job in defense. In 3rd minute of second half Saleem Abdurahman scored again for Makkah Indian FC with a powerful long ranger from almost middle of the ground (6-2). Jeddah FC was not ready to bow out easily and their Shihabudhin dribbled past 3 Makkah defenders to beat goalkeeper Mohammed Rafi to reduce margin (6-3).

Best player was Mohammed Naufal of Makkah Indian FC who received a trophy from Akbar Alikkal.
