After a perfect game by Randy Mata the previous week, MC Hammer took its turn to record the league’s first perfect score of 48 points on its way to the Team of the Week award during the 8th session in the OSN-FTBJ 49th Open Conference bowling tournament at the Jeddah Lanes here.

Everything fell into place for Hammer in reaching the maximum possible points in a session, sweeping the first-place points of 12 for the three games and overall output.

It was only the second team award for Hammer and yet it looked impregnable at the top of the team standings in this five-man Saturday night league event organized by Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah.

None came close as Hammer went about building a record 48, with Jeddah Lanes in the end 6.5 points adrift on 41.5 points.

Geely Cars was likewise a distant third on 36 leaving MC and the host bowlers as the only teams to cross 40.

Defending champion Sky Freight-TFC pooled 32.5 points in fourth place followed by Taurus Amigos 27.5, Kabalen 27.5, AFM-Moe 26, Bank AlJazira Fawri 22 and Habagat 20. Red Dragons 18, Fine Boys Rhinoz 9 and SPBC Bowlers were the last three to check in with respective totals of 18, 9 and 4 points.

Zaldy Bacero, Jhun Estefano and Rene Punzalan struck heaviest blows for Hammer with rounds of 654, 600 and 579. So efficient was Hammer on the night even piece-meal contributions made an impact. Consider: 182-190 from Dylan Ilagan, 213-210 form Melvin Lising and 222-180 from Richard Junio.

This Hammer repeat ended weeks of different teams alternating at winning the coveted award.

Majid Aslani shot the third tournament best individual series at 707 to become the Bowler of the Week while taking charge at Jeddah Lanes.

Igna Salgado was chief in providing Aslani support on 636. Mohd. Amri had 592, Gerry Mandanas 560, Paolo Allego 184-160 and Jeff San Pedro 187.

Rally Zamora and Rey Beltran on 639 and 579 were the main men at Geely that also drew 577 from Nanding Siasoco, 146-172 from Jimmy Mandingiado and 214-225 from Paul Antiporda.

Sky Freight got a pair of 565s from Bonnie Garcia and James Galvan in addition to 584 by Pancho Cuevas, 234-176 by Goying Salazar, 176-204 by Oca Bernabe and 195-211 by Rene Santiago.
