JEDDAH: My Care Hala (MCH) Premier lifted the T20 Saudi Cup sponsored by Reel & Rom and UT Lines and organized under the auspices of Jeddah Cricket Association. MCH defeated Pak Shaheen by 8 wickets with 15 balls to spare in a one-sided final.
MCH Premier recorded a sound 8 wickets win chasing 175 which it did in style scoring 175 for 2 in 17.3 overs with a solid unbeaten 65 from Kashif (7 fours, 4 sixes) and an equally matching unbeaten 43 by Baber (3 fours, 2 sixes) as well as a quick 33 from opener Shahbaz. Earlier, MCH Premier Bowlers restricted Pak Shaheen to 174 all out with Adnan (3 for 33), Abu Huraira (2 for 49) and Shahbaz (2 for 22) sharing honors with some accurate and penetrative bowling. Afzal 53 (5 fours, 3 sixes), Shaan (38) and Saad (22) were the only ones to offer resistance. Baber excelled behind the stumps taking 2 catches and 1 stumping which along with his unbeaten 43 earned him the Man of the Final award.
At the prize distribution ceremony Franke David, director of Reel & Rom, thanked JCA for giving Reel & Rom the opportunity to sponsor the Saudi Cup – the first in the Kingdom – which was inaugurated by Pakistan captain Misbah Ul Haq. JCA CEO Mohammed Iqbal thanked Reel & Rom and UT Lines for supporting JCA in sponsoring Saudi Cup and went on to advise teams to always play within the ambit of the rules and regulation for a friendly and competitive game of cricket. JCA President Aijaz Ahmed Khan congratulated the winner MCH Premier and runner-up Pak Shaheen for a spirited display in the final. Chief guest Franke then handed out trophies and medals to the champion and runner-up.
Also awarded were Best Batsman Irfan Nazeer (MCH Premier) 572 runs, Best Bowler Ishaq Baghdadi (Pepsi Deccan Knights )20 wickets, and Best All Rounder Shahbaz Rasheed (MCH Premier) 856 runs and 23 wickets.
