JEDDAH: MCH Premier comfortably won the Qualifier 2 match by a whopping margin of 100 runs with records tumbling against Hala Int’l School in the penultimate week of the CIT SPL T20 to set up a potentially explosive final match against Ace Travel Friday.
Swords will be out on both sides as Ace Travel not having won any title in 2015-2016 season looking to add this one to its championship successes.
MCH Premier is expected to go all out to avenge its Qualifier 1 defeat in what looms as an interesting battle at JCA Complex.
The chief guest of this occasion is Ghazanfar Ali Zaki, a famous Jeddah personality who had represented A.P.Santosh Trophy, A.P. Hotels, A.P. Road Transport in major football tournaments. He is the founder of IYWA-Indian Youth Welfare Association and general secretary of Saudi Indian Business Network under the aegis of Indian Consulate General Jeddah.

MCH Premier openers Irfan Nazir and Kashif Shafiq got off to a solid start as they put on a century stand, followed it up with a double century and finally went on to put 312 runs, a record partnership for the opening wicket in JCA. Irfan Nazir scored a brilliant 155 runs in only 47 balls, which included 18 well-timed fours and 11 huge sixes while Kashif Shafiq, matching him ball to ball, scored an unbeaten 148 runs in 53 balls inclusive of 17 exquisitely timed boundaries and 9 hits over it.
With the departure of Irfan, MCH Premier’s wickets fell like nine pins as Rafaqat had the remaining batsmen caught in his spin web to take all 8 wickets to fall for 32, which is a record in CIT SPL, as no batsman stayed at the crease, wanting to hit every ball and giving away their wickets at regular intervals. MCH Premier ended at a massive 352 for 8 in 20 overs with Kashif carrying his bat through.
In reply, Hala International School after being bludgeoned all over the field, gave a spirited fightback scoring 252 runs for 4 in 20 overs despite losing prolific opener Shahjahan in 2nd over for 12 runs. Jawad then blasted a quick-fire 100 off 48 balls to register his maiden century in SPL. Jawad along with Amir who scored 53 in 30 balls, Usman (35 in 18 balls) and Rafaqat (27 in 14 balls) did well to take their team to 252 for 4, 100 short of target. Kashif, Adnan and Usman took a wicket each as MCH Premier won handsomely by 100 runs to reach the final and once again clash with Ace Travel.
