RIYADH: Mehran, NAB, Evergreen and Pakhrook Khawa qualified for the semifinals, from the Super Division, in the Sikandar Farooqui Memorial T20 cricket tournament, sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center and organized by the Riyadh Cricket League at their complex here.

Super, Mughal, Bhatkal and Royal Fighters made it to the last four stage from the Premier Division I while Cricketers, Karachi Titans, Diamond and Kashmir Press made it to the semis from the Premier Division II section.

Game Pro set a 190 runs target for rivals NAB. Gavanji made that score possible with a well-made 88 runs. He was well supported by Shoaib’s 48. Imran took 2 wickets for the bowling side.

NAB achieved their target for the loss of 2 wickets. Thanks to Imran Khan’s (70) and Kamran Akram’s (69). Kashif bagged 2 wickets.

In another match, Super batted first and put up 197 against Samarwa. Shafeeq was the man in form and top-scored with an unbeaten 88 runs. Mohammed Hussain (44), Faraz (23) and Norman (20) were the other contributors.

In reply Samarwa scored 178 and fell short by 19 runs. Shakeel (46), Ahsan (41) Aasif Sheikh (33) and Abu Baker (22) did their best for the losing side. Riaz Ahmed impressed with his bowling and did most of the damage as he took 4 wickets. Abdul Majeed got 2. Adnan Nasir did a good job behind the wickets with 4 stumpings besides taking a catch.

Man-of-the-Match: Shafeeq.

Diamond CC edged past Maestro CC by 2 wickets. Maestro made first use of the pitch and put up 191 runs. Rahil Lala top-scored with 57 runs. Shoaib Shah (41), Ashfaque Qureshi (26) and Feroz Khan (24) were the main run getters. Khaja Pasha and Amjad took 2 wickets each.

In reply Diamond CC achieved their target in 19.4 overs. Waseem scored a match winning innings of 71 runs. Tahir and Hyder made 38 and 30 runs respectively. Rahil Lala and Ashfaque Qureshi shared 4 wickets.

Royal Fighters routed Bhatkal Warriors by 67 runs. Royal Fighters scored 160 runs. Madani (49), Amin Sheikh (41) and Qaiser (20) were among the runs. Mehboob took 3 wickets while Hanif and Tahoor shared 4.

In reply Bhatkal were bowled out for 93 runs. Khalil and Ibrahim were the only batsmen who resisted Royal Fighter bowlers and made 29 and 20 runs respectively. Madani wrecked the rival batting and took 5 wickets while Tawaf got 2.

Elsewhere, Mehran batted first and scored 249 runs. Faheem Abbas Shah was in tremendous form and scored 140 runs.He was supported by Assad Butt’s 76.

In reply Pakhtoon Khawas put up a good fight but fell short by 20 runs as they totaled 230 runs in their allotted overs. Naveed (60) and Haroon (46) led the run chase and did well for their team.

Majed of Mehran took 4 wickets.

Man-of-the-Match: Faheem Abbas Shah.

Kashmir Press defeated Cricketers by 2 wickets. Cricketers made 175 runs. In reply Kashmir Press reached their total off 14.2 overs. Shabab was the highest scorer with 51 runs. Shafaqat (22) and Amar (21) were the other run getters. Shakir took 2 wickets.
