RIYADH: Mehran, Sager and PTI scored comfortable victories to emerge winners in their respective divisions to lift the Static Zone Twenty20 Cup, sponsored by Static Zone Company and organized by the Riyadh Cricket League at the RCL Complex.

The finals, witnessed by a decent crowd, saw some good performances by Naveed and Inam with their bowling while Ibraheem, Rashid Mirza, Shafeeq, Irfan, Mohammed Hussain, Zia impressed with their batting skills.

In the finals of the Super League, Mehran scored a comfortable 39-run win over Super Cricket Club. In the Premier-I Sager got the better of JAMIAA by 34 runs and In the Premier-II PTI ousted Kokan Green by 16 runs.

Mehran took the wicket first and scored a decent total of 260 runs. Ibrahim and Mohammed Hussain provided a good opening stand of 165 runs. Ibrahim made 85 runs while Mohammed Hussain 63. Rashid Mirza and Shafiq took 2 wickets each. In reply Super tried to make a fight of it but managed 221 runs in their allocated overs. Rashid Mirza was the only batman who stood tall against the rival bowlers and top-scored with 91 runs. He was supported by Shafeeq for his 53 runs.

Man-of-the-Match: Ibrahim.

In the Premier Division, Sager put on board 187 runs. Ziaurrehman top-scored with 43 runs. Attaurrehman (20), Zakariya (18) and Naveed (14) were the other contributors. Moin took 2 wickets. In reply JAMIAA managed 152 runs. Mushtaq was the highest scorer with 35 runs followed by Nisar’s 28. Naveed bowled well and claimed 4 wickets.

Man-of-the-Match: Naveed Muhammed.

In the Premier-II League final, PTI took the wicket first and set the rivals a target of 182 for victory. Irfan was the batsman in form and top-scored with 86 runs. Waqar (25) and Inam (22) gave him support. In reply Kokan Green were bowled out for 165 runs. Inam did most of the wickets and took 4 wickets.

Man-of-the-Match: Irfan.

The prize distribution ceremony started with the recitation of Holy Qu’ran. Jawaid Munawar SVP on behalf of RCL executive committee thanked the sponsor and teams for being supportive during the tournament. Aftab Ahmed, CEO of Zahoor Anwar Al Hassen Est. was the chief guest. AR Sports sponsored cricket gears to outstanding players of the Super, Premier-I and Premier-II Leagues.
