JEDDAH: There was mixed fortunes for the participating teams in the Kanoo Inter-Division League, which as it nears the knockout stage with all teams in with a chance to qualify.

While Machinery won two matches and lost one, Finance, BDP Logistics won and lost one match each, P&IP won the only match it played and Travel lost both of their matches. The event is being sponsored by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group for the 19th year for its employees and co-sponsored by AXA Insurance and Maersk Sealand.

Machinery vs. Travel

Machinery scored 134 in 12 overs with Naseef (30) and Imam (20) batting fluently. Vasvi and Yassas took 2 wickets each. Chasing 135 runs was tough for Travel. However, Sunith made 24, Mubeen 14, Yassas 17 and Venkat 13 but the Machinery bowlers tightened the grip to bowl the rival out for 111.

Man-of-the-Match: Naseef (30 not out).

Finance vs. BDP Logistics

BDP Logistics put on 137 in 12 overs with Siras single-handedly blasting a superb 71. Imran (29) and Inshaf (16) gave good support. Finance bowlers Ashfaq, Tuan and Sami picked up a wicket each. Chasing a daunting task, Finance lost prolific scorer Sami early while Rafiq (13), Nabil (10), Ashfaq (14) and Jayrom (12) fought bravely to reach double figures. It was bundled out for 96.

Man of the Match: Siras (71 runs).

P&IP vs. Machinery

P&IP went on the rampage, thanks to Bashir who hit a quick-fire 50 and Razi (49) and Liyakat (24). It tallied 148. Suresh and Fahim took a wicket each. Chasing 149 runs, both openers made a century partnership with Fahim hitting 48 runs and Naseef 50. But the game turned around with upcoming all-rounder Liyakat picking up 3 wickets in an over and ending with figures of 4-15. Machinery was restricted to 141.

Man-of-the-Match: Liyaqat (24 runs & 4-15).

Finance vs. Travel

Travel put up a good total of 143 with Yassas plundering a quick-fire 58 runs along with Venkat (21) and Mubeen (24). Izan picked up 2 wickets and Nabil 1. In reply, Finance opener Nabil flogged the bowlers all around scoring 49 runs off 17 balls with good support from Sami Khan (35) and Izan 27. It reached 144 in the 11th over. Yassas claimed 2 wickets, while Venkat and Vasvi got one each. Man-of-the-Match: Nabil (49 runs).

Machinery vs. BDP Logistics

BDP Logistics despite early loss of both openers went on to make 104, thanks to Imran Sheradi (46) and Inshaf (19). Vatshan and Fahim grabbed 3 wickets each and Suresh 2. In reply, Vatshan remained unbeaten on 40, supported by Naseef (16) and earned a thrilling victory in the last over. Siras and Fahim took 2 wickets.
